Project Scope
In this eight-week course, create a storyline for three characters to follow. You must create a script, the background to each character then illustrate each character from sketch to completion. After illustrating all three characters, create one full-color illustration with each character in a dynamic pose to showcase the stories ending.
Inspiration
During my graduate program, I had the privilege of learning more about my personal heritage. With this journey, I was able to learn about my Danish heritage and how my great grandparents are from Denmark. While being in this "Character Design" class and reminiscing on my fond memories that I had with my great grandparents, I had the opportunity to create and design characters from the ground up. I decided to use the inspiration that I had at the time and use my danish heritage as a catalyst for my project. I combined both this background of mine as well as the war times in the early 1900's and came up with this sad yet sweet story following a grandmother, her granddaughter, and a funky chicken.
